Climate

Hanoi has a sub-tropical climate with district seasons. It gets really hot in summer. The temperature feels “just right” at the end of winter/beginning of spring.

Ongoing changes

Every time I visit I see more and more brand new places. This time I also noticed many new construction works including tall building and works for a new Metro line.

Air quality is generally poor. There are gated communities where it’s better for who can afford to live there. There is a bus system that could help but it’s not used that much. The government has a plan to ban motorcycles by 2030. Given the current state of traffic and transit it seems very ambitious but it would be a very welcome change.
